The Kick is a 2011 Thai martial arts film directed by Prachya Pinkaew. The story revolves around a Korean family of taekwondo experts who immigrate to Thailand. Mun, the patriarch of the family, runs an old taekwondo gym in Bangkok. His wife Mija excels in cooking, his son Taeyang in dancing, his daughter Taemi in soccer, and the youngest, Typhoon, has a unique ability to break anything with his strong forehead. Mun wishes for his children to become taekwondo coaches and take over the gym in the future. However, Taeyang dreams of becoming a famous pop singer, and Taemi is solely interested in fashion. The film showcases the family's journey as they navigate their personal aspirations while staying rooted in their martial arts heritage.
